Born in LosAngeles,California in 1998, Devongrew upsuroundedbythefilm and entertainmentindustry.Thisheavilyinfluenced hisdecisiontopursueacareerinfilmandnews mediaatColumbiaColegeinChicago,where hehasdedicatedhisstudiestolearningtheins andoutsofproductionanddocumentaryfilm making. Devon’s original focus centered around communityinjustices;however,hispasions havesinceexpandedtocovernumerousother socialmovementsandcauses.Asayoung studentandaspiringdocumentarianunder lockdown,italcametoaheadinthesummer of2020duringthefirstwaveoftheglobal pandemicandtheBlackLivesMater(BLM) protests.

Americawashurtingandprotestshadbrokenout incitiesacrosthecountry,sowiththeonlycamera hehad,whichhappentobeanoldphonewitha brokenscren,Devonheadedoutintothestrets photographingtheprotestsinaction. Ontheground,inthemidstoftheupheaval,he interviewedprotesters,capturingthetruefeeling ofthepeople;thedeepseededhurtofsomany suppresedvoices,inwhatwouldbecomehis firsttasteofmixingpoliticalreportingandsocial activism.
